Labour Day 2010 message – time for pension and retirement security reform

In recognition of this statutory holiday – the origins of which “can be traced back to April 14, 1872 when a parade was staged in support of the Toronto Typographical Union’s strike for a 58-hour work-week” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Day) – Canada Without Poverty and the CWP Advocacy Network are this year championing the call – led by Canadian labour and with the support of groups like the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, for significant pension and retirement security reform.
