Dish on Dignity event a success!

On February 1st, the Dish on Dignity evening event at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Ottawa assembled about 140 persons in poverty, social justice advocates, Members of Parliament, Senators and others for an evening of sharing of information and insights on poverty, and inspiration to make greater progress in combating poverty in Canada.  Read the rest of this entry »

New Brunswick adopts poverty action plan

At a unique forum on November 12 & 13, 2009 nearly 50 representatives from government, the business sector, non-profit organizations and individuals who have first-hand experience living in poverty, as well as the leader of the official opposition party, New Brunswick’s first ever poverty reduction plan was adopted.
