Join Canada Without Poverty for one of our upcoming events!

December AGM for the CWP Advocacy Network and Canada Without Poverty:  set for Thursday, Deecember 15th, the AGM will be back-to-back by either conference call or web conference. The Advocacy Network AGM will be from 5:30-6:15pm Eastern and the Canada Without Poverty AGM will be from 6:30-7:30pm Eastern

Dignity for All “What’s Next: How do we Address Poverty in Canada?”:  Join a national conversation on poverty on Monday, December 5th at the National Press Theatre on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.  From 5:30-7pm a panel including MP’s, a representative of the Dignity for All campaign, and a person with a lived experience of poverty will dicuss action steps needed to adequately address poverty in Canada in light of recent government reports indicating the time for movement has come.  Registration information and invitations in English and French can be found here.  Please join us!

Poverty and Punchlines Vancouver:  Thursday, October 13th at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island, the show featured local comedians Ivan Decker and Erica Sigurdson.

“Get Up Stand Up”: An Evening of Insight and Inspiration featuring CWP’s Honorary Directors the Hon. Monique Bégin, Hon. Ed Broadbent and Mr. Ovide Mercredi. The panel also featured Leilani Farha from the Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation and Alex Neve from Amnesty International.  (September 29th, 2011, from 7-9pm)

Benefit Concert with Grammy award winning musician Will Ackerman – September 30, 2011 at Dominion Chalmers Church in Ottawa, Ontario.
