From Words to Action: Alberta Can Afford a Real Poverty Reduction Strategy

Summary:

In 2010, approximately 400,000 Albertans were living in poverty, including about 91,000 children. In 2011, there were around 304,000 Albertans living in poverty, including 84,000 children. Being poor is about much more than simply a lack of money: it’s about a lack of opportunity. And poverty hurts us all – it affects the well-being of our neighbourhoods, businesses, communities, and our province as a whole.
